Two out of five deaths in America are caused by stroke, heart attack, high blood pressure or other cardiovascular disorders. In fact, more than 870,000 Americans die each year from vascular disease. And the worst part of this grim equation is that many of these deaths are needless and premature.
Many factors have led to this problem. The lack of effective diagnostic tools in physician’s offices is perhaps the biggest roadblock. Poor data coordination between interventional cardiologists, vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, and hospital administration is another major hurdle.
